Standard Chartered KL Marathon 2009

The inaugural Standard Chartered KL Marathon is on! Scheduled on 28 June 2009 at Dataran Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur.

The routes will weave through the streets of Kuala Lumpur showcasing its historical landmarks and tourists attractions. There are 5 categories of races which are the 42km, 21km, 10km, the 5km Fun Run and the 3km Kids Dash. Apart from the main race, there is also the 'Run For A Cause' event aimed to raise funds for 5 selected charity organisations.

A whopping total prize money of US$100,000 is in the offering. The race aims to attract 12,500 participants for what is expected to be the marathon of the year. Start time for the 42km marathon will be at 5.00 am while the 21km will be flagged-off at 6.15 am.
